Description:

A low bushy shrub valued for its very showy white flowers in spring followed by bright red berries; features striking chartruse foliage that contrasts well with broadleaf evergreen foliage; makes a fantastic hedge, takes pruning well

Ornamental Features

Edmee Gold™ Honeysuckle is bathed in stunning white flowers along the branches in late spring. It has attractive chartreuse evergreen foliage which emerges yellow in spring. The oval leaves are highly ornamental and remain chartreuse throughout the winter. It features an abundance of magnificent red berries in mid fall.

Landscape Attributes

Edmee Gold™ Honeysuckle is a dense multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other landscape plants with less refined foliage.

This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds to your yard. It has no significant negative characteristics.

Edmee Gold™ Honeysuckle is recommended for the following landscape applications;

  • Mass Planting
  • Hedges/Screening
  • General Garden Use
  • Groundcover

Planting & Growing

Edmee Gold™ Honeysuckle will grow to be about 4 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 4 feet. It tends to fill out right to the ground and therefore doesn't necessarily require facer plants in front. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years.

This shrub does best in full sun to partial shade. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America.

This plant is not reliably hardy in our region, and certain restrictions may apply; contact the store for more information.
